Lance Reddick’s wife Stephanie broke her silence following the actor’s sudden death at the age of 60 on Friday.
Stephanie, who married Reddick in 2011, shared a tribute to her late husband on his verified social media accounts and thanked his fans for their condolences.
“Lance was taken away from us too soon,” she wrote on Instagram on Saturday, along with four photos of the John Wick star, including one of his Fate video game characters Commander Zavala.

“Thank you for all your great love, support and wonderful stories that you have been sharing on these platforms over the past day. I see your messages and cannot express how grateful I am for them.

“And to the thousands of Destiny players who have played in honor of Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game.”
Reddick voiced Commander Zavala in the 2014 video game Destiny and its 2017 sequel Destiny 2. Since the release of Destiny 2, the game’s developer, Bungie, has regularly released expansions and quarterly seasons.
According to Forbes, Reddick has been the longest-serving and most used voice actor in the game.
After the news of his death was revealed on Friday, thousands of Destiny players paid tribute to Reddick in-game by visiting Commander Zavala at his station in the Tower, according to the publication.
Since only 16 players can fit in the Tower at a time, gamers spend hundreds of vigils. Player avatars have been seen gathering around Zavala, paying homage in various ways as they kneel, salute, embrace, or stand side by side silently.
Reddick had a strong relationship with the Destiny fan community, often posting videos of himself playing the game and recording character dialogue at the request of fans.
The actor died “suddenly” of natural causes, his publicist Mia Hansen confirmed in a statement to the Associated Press.
In addition to starring in all four John Wick films, Reddick was known for his roles in The Wire, Fringe, Bosch, Oz, White House Has Fallen, and Godzilla vs. Kong. and Lost among many other film and television projects.
Many of Reddick’s former colleagues and other celebrities, including Ben Stiller, Wendell Pierce, Stephen King and James Gunn, mourned his death on social media.

John Wick: Chapter Four star Keanu Reeves and the film’s director Chad Stahelski paid tribute to Reddick in a joint statement to Deadline.
“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,” the post reads.
“He was a consummate professional and a pleasure to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him greatly.”

Reddick portrayed Charon, a concierge at the Continental Hotel and a close ally of Wick, in all four installments of the franchise. The fourth film will debut in theaters next week.
The actor did not attend the premiere of John Wick: Chapter Four in New York on Wednesday. He shared three photos on Instagram in which he was seen lounging on the couch with his dogs on Thursday, the day before he died.
